History

As an innovative company, we have remained true to the traditions of Dr. Walter Zumtobel and Ferdinand Rojkowski. They were the brains behind "Electro-Terminal" and were never content to rest on their laurels. This enabled the company to register considerable success on regional, national and international markets and establish its own standards. In this respect, nothing has changed in the past 45 years. 

Milestones of the history of Tridonic connection technology:

• 1964 Dr. W. Zumtobel and F. Rojkowski set up Electro-Terminal in Innsbruck
• 1972 Relocation to the new building in Archenweg 58
• 1977 Launch of push-in technology for ballast connectors
• 1988 Launch of cable connection boxes for household appliances
• 1993 Certification according to ISO 9001
• 1996 Integration into the Tridonic Division of the Zumtobel AG
• 1999 Launch of IDC technology for ballast connectors
• 2002 First products and projects for the LED sector
• 2005 Change of name to TridonicAtco connection technology
• 2006 Certification according to ISO 14001
• 2009 Launch PKL - Universal PCB Connector for all types of wires
• 2010 Certification according to ISO 18001, Rebranding

The fact that Tridonic connection technology offers a large number of products is a good indicator that development efforts are focused on individual solutions. The requirements are just as wide-ranging as the areas of application. Products from Tridonic connection technology have certain things in common however: they are all absolutely reliable and are right up there with the state of the art – and often one step ahead.

Tridonic connection technology holds numerous patents that are fundamental to electrical
connections – and will continue to shape the future of this technology. A share of new products in its overall portfolio of 40 % underlines the development powers of the company. What’s more, with our innovations and patents we support our customers worldwide in achieving their own market objectives.

Group affiliation/Shareholding

Tridonic connection technology is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tridonic, a division of the Zumtobel Group. Zumtobel is listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange (XETRA trading system) under the trading code ZAG. 
 

Turnover/Profit

For the 2010/11 fiscal year Tridonic connection technology reported sales of 25.3 million euros.
